[Art] Echoes

ECHOES

The new installation SkypeLab Echoes emerges from the remnants of the SkypeLab 1000 Pixel and SkypeLab 468 Pixel projects.

Echoes reflects the residual information left behind by digital communication and our movement through virtual spaces. These remnants are perceived both literally and metaphorically as “fragments in the network”—pieces that cannot be easily discarded, lingering in the virtual space for an indefinite time.

For the installation, a precise grid was constructed using elements from the world of construction, such as scaffolding and masonry cord. The leftover of the acrylic plates (Pixels) from previous projects were randomly and improvisationally hung and entangled within this grid.

Echoes was created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg and was presented at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. The project was realized in collaboration with Professor Henning Eichinger and Annie Kurz.
